What is Coronavirus?

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that can cause respiratory problems in humans ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). The new Coronavirus has never been seen in humans before. It was first detected in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The new virus is named SARS-CoV-2, due to its genetic similarity to the Coronavirus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS. The official name for the disease is COVID-19.

  • You should check up to date travel health guidelines.
  • Anyone who is elderly or has a pre-existing health condition should be extra cautious as they could be at extreme risk if infected with Covid-19
  • You should check the effect that the disease causes on your travel insurance.
  • Be aware of any possible increased screening for the virus at airports.
  • Maintain good hand hygiene. Wash your hands as often as possible. Also, avoid shaking hands with others.
  • Maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

Dubai’s favorite art fair which was returning with its 14th edition on 25th  – 28th March 2020 has been postponed due to widespread danger of Coronavirus. The event that promotes the works of regional and local artists will announce the new dates shortly.
